Washington, D.C.

In Washington, D.C., learners in Paxen’s program receive a well-rounded series of educational experiences that includes academic enrichment in key tested areas such as reading and mathematics. Such instruction leads to literacy and numeracy gains for students who wish to catch up, get ahead, or simply remain on-target. Students in the program receive exposure to postsecondary options through tours of area industries and local colleges.

The program, offered in conjunction with the District of Columbia National Guard, provides learners with instruction in the art of seeking, securing, and succeeding in high-interest professions, which equip them with the knowledge and skills to stand out amid a competitive job market. They also develop key skills in the areas of critical thinking, responsible living, and experiential learning.

Paxen's DC program can only accept new participants through a program referral.
